MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Meteorological Department has predicted the entry of a new series of westerly winds into the country, under which the weather conditions in various cities will change from May 2.
According to experts, in the hottest months of May and June, when the temperature can exceed 45 degrees, intermittent rains and storms are also expected due to the recent system.

According to experts, strong winds, storms, and rains may continue intermittently from May 2 to 5, due to which a temporary decrease in temperature is expected; however, after May 5, the intensity of heat is likely to increase once again.
According to the Deputy Director of the Meteorological Department, May and June are considered the hottest months of the year, and a significant increase in temperature is normal during this period.
He says that in the last 10 days of May, the temperature may exceed 45 degrees Celsius, due to which citizens may face severe heat. The weather is likely to remain cloudy in Lahore throughout the day today, while thundershowers are expected after noon.
According to the Meteorological Department, light rain may occur in the city, while strong winds are expected to reach 70 to 90 kilometers per hour in some places, during which the temperature is expected to be a maximum of 35 and a minimum of 25 degrees Celsius.
According to experts, intermittent rains may continue in different parts of the country due to the pre-monsoon system and westerly winds. Rain has also been forecast in the upper areas, including Islamabad today, while the plains will remain mostly hot and dry.
According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds and rain are likely in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Potohar region, upper and south-east Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
On the contrary, the weather has been predicted to remain hot and dry in other parts of the country. Intense heat was recorded in different parts of the country yesterday, where the temperature reached 46 degrees Celsius in Jiwani, 44 degrees Celsius in Mohenjo-Daro, and 43 degrees Celsius in Larkana, which indicates that the intensity of the heat may increase further in the coming days.
