DHIRKOT (Kashmir English): Former Chief Engineer of AJK Public Works Department (PWD) Raja Mushtaq has been rescued from Katch bandits in Sindh, a week after he was kidnapped for a heavy ransom.
In a video message, Raja Iftikhar Ayub, a former candidate for the AJK Legislative Assembly, confirmed that Raja Mushtaq has been safely rescued with the help of law enforcement agencies and the Sindh government.
Earlier, after the kidnapping, a video of Mushtaq surfaced, appealing to his family to deposit Rs 30 million for his release.
Iftikhar Ayub said that he is grateful to all his friends for the campaign they launched and to the overseas Kashmiri brothers for their cooperation.
He added that contact has been made with Raja Mushtaq and that he has spoken to him on the telephone, confirming that he has recovered safely.
Raja Iftikhar Ayub said that Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore played an important role in the recovery of the abductee, and he is grateful to the Sindh government for playing its role.
