MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Usman Mushtaq, an active member of the banned Awami Action Committee and a close associate of Khawaja Mehran, has announced his complete disassociation from the organization and distanced himself from all its activities and ideologies.

Usman Mushtaq said in his statement that he had participated in the Rawalakot sit-in along with Khawaja Mehran; however, after closely observing the situation there, he realized that the organization had deviated from its initial claims and agenda of public rights.

He said that initially, the Awami Action Committee was raising its voice on public issues like flour, electricity, and health cards, on the basis of which he supported it, but later it became clear that the organization’s current behavior and activities reflect some other agenda than public rights.

He especially appealed to the youth not to be a part of any kind of propaganda or provocation, to understand the facts, and to stay away from elements that try to mislead them.
