ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has offered talks to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and said that if the PTI shows seriousness, the government is fully ready for talks; however, blackmailing under the guise of talks is not acceptable in any way. He said that talks can move forward only on legitimate and constitutional demands.
Addressing the federal cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister said that harmony among political parties is indispensable for the country’s development and prosperity. He clarified that he has repeatedly reiterated in the National Assembly that the government is ready for serious and meaningful talks.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that nowadays the PTI is talking about talks and dialogue, but it should be kept in mind that no talks on illegal demands are possible. He said that if the PTI really wants talks, the government is also ready to sit at the table with the same spirit.
Expressing his determination to move forward with the negotiations with the opposition parties, the Prime Minister said that national interest should take precedence over personal and political interests. He said that all political forces should work together to overcome the challenges the country is currently facing.
In the federal cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister mentioned national security and sacrifices and said that the entire nation salutes its martyrs, thanks to whom peace and stability have been established in the country today.
The Prime Minister informed the cabinet that the privatization process of Pakistan International Airlines is underway and the government is committed to making the entire process transparent so that national assets can be protected.
In addition, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took the cabinet members into confidence about his recent foreign visits and meetings with world leaders. He said that in these meetings, detailed discussions were held regarding Pakistan’s economy, investment, and the country’s positive image at the global level.
The Prime Minister reiterated his commitment that the government will continue to take all possible steps for the country’s stability, economic recovery, and promotion of democratic traditions.
