RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Security forces foiled a terrorist attack at Cadet College Wana in South Waziristan District on Monday, killing two Khawarij, the military’s media wing said.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), terrorists belonging to the India-backed Fitna al Khwarij attacked Cadet College Wana in South Waziristan district on November 10.

The military said that the assailants attempted to breach the perimeter security; however, “their nefarious designs were swiftly foiled by the vigilant and resolute response of their own troops.”

A suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the main gate, resulting in the collapse of the main gate and damage to adjacent infrastructure. Meanwhile, security troops engaged and eliminated two khwarij.

Earlier, security sources reported that the blast resulted in the injury of six civilians.

“However, three Khwarij managed to enter inside college premises, who have been cornered in the College’s administrative block,” the ISPR press release said.

The armed forces’ media release further confirmed that clearance operations are being conducted to eliminate leftover Indian sponsored kharjis.

The military’s media wing further accused that terrorists hiding inside college premises are in contact with their “masters and handlers in Afghanistan and are getting instructions.”

“This blatant act of barbarism was orchestrated by Khwarij from Afghanistan,” the ISPR said.

It added that the TTP terrorists once again tried to repeat the barbaric act of terrorism carried out by them in Army Public School Peshawar in 2014.

“Aimed at instilling fear amongst the young generation of erstwhile tribal areas who are acquiring quality education at their doorstep to excel in life and achieve a better future for not only themselves and their families but also for their communities.”

“We will continue a relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” by security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the military reaffirmed.
