ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Athletics Federation (PAF) has sought an explanation from coach Salman Iqbal Butt over Olympian Arshad Nadeem’s disappointing performance in the World Athletics Championships.
A show-cause notice has been issued to Salman Iqbal Butt in this regard. In which the Athletics Federation of Pakistan has sought a written report from Salman Iqbal Butt by October 5.
Salman Iqbal Butt has been directed to provide clarification on 10 different issues in the report.
The report has sought details of Arshad Nadeem’s training from September 2024 to August 2025.
During this time, which expert coach assisted in the training program? What strategy was made regarding Arshad Nadeem’s participation in international events in a year?
An explanation should be given for Arshad Nadeem’s non-participation in any edition of the Diamond League.
An account has also been sought of the details of which foreign coaches and trainers were contacted in a year.
Instructions have also been sought to collect details of Arshad Nadeem’s high-performance training in a year.
If any contact is made with the Athletics Federation of Pakistan or any other national institution in a year, the details of it have also been made mandatory.
Details of Arshad Nadeem’s health and fitness have also been asked to be included in the report.
Details of Arshad Nadeem’s medical problems, his treatment, and rehabilitation program have also been sought. If any important steps have been taken, their details have also been directed to be included in the report.
Along with Arshad Nadeem’s future strategy, suggestions and plans have also been sought to move forward and embark on the path of success again.
The Athletics Federation of Pakistan has also informed the Pakistan Sports Board regarding the report sought from Salman Iqbal Butt.
