ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Mishal Hussain Malik, wife of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, who is imprisoned in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail, has warned Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi that if Yasin Malik is hanged, a chapter of hope for peace in South Asia will end.
Yasin Malik always chose the path of dialogue
In a letter, Mishal Malik said that Yasin Malik always chose the path of dialogue and non-violence, abandoning arms, and was part of peace talks with seven Indian Prime Ministers.
She demanded that the Congress leadership raise its voice in the Indian Parliament to ensure justice for Yasin Malik, ensure a fair trial, and oppose the death penalty.
Malik said that this issue is not just about Yasin Malik, but about the future of peace, justice, and humanity in the entire region. Yasin Malik’s hanging would be the end of hope for peace, she added.
She said that the Modi government is resorting to hanging for electoral politics, and Congress should raise its voice in Parliament on this issue. A fair trial and human rights are Yasin Malik’s right, she concluded.
