FBR abolishes QR Code login requirement for IRIS System

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has suspended the condition for taxpayers to log in to the Information Returns Intake System IRIS system through a QR code.

The FBR informed the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Regional Secretariat, Peshawar, to resolve a complaint against the board.

As per a tax professional, the grievance was about the IRIS login via QR code. It was explained that the requirement for the QR code has been put on hold, and the grievance seems to be settled.

In its correspondence to the FTO Regional Secretariat Peshawar, the FBR assured that the login requirement to IRIS via QR code has now been put on hold.

What is the IRIS System?

The Information Returns Intake System (IRIS) is a modernized system that receives information through two intake channels: IRIS Taxpayer Portal/UI and IRIS Application to Application (A2A).
