RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Kahuta-Azad Pattan Road has been closed at Thanda Pani due to a landslide, after which hundreds of passengers traveling to and from Azad Kashmir to Rawalpindi, Islamabad have been found stranded.
Landslide occurred near Farooq Hotel
According to details, due to heavy rainfall, a large landslide occurred near Farooq Hotel at Thanda Pani on Kahuta-Azad Pattan Road, completely halting traffic.
Rescue officials have requested citizens to use the alternative route, Kotli-Kahuta Road, as it may take time to restore traffic.
On the other hand, car of Abdul Rashid Turabi, former Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir, also got stuck at Sohan Pak Pattan along with other passenger vehicles while coming from Bagh to Rawalpindi.
The stranded passengers have appealed to the Poonch administration to immediately dispatch rescue teams to transport passengers in hundreds of vehicles to safer locations.
