PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Assembly session for the reserved seats of the provincial assembly on Sunday, has been adjourned till July 24, according to media reports.
The session started with a delay of more than 2 hours, and as the session begins, the quorum was marked by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA.
Speaker Babar Saleem Swati, presided the session, which was later on adjourned due to the marking of quorum.
The Speaker asked Sher Ali Afridi to mark the quorum from his seat. Five government members were present in the session.
PML-N leader Sobia Shahid said that you have been denying the rights of this province for five years. Speaker Babar Saleem said, only 25 members were present in the assembly, how to continue the session as the quorum is not completed.
Opposition members gathered near the speaker’s dais and and chanted slogans against the Babar Saleem.
Earlier, a meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf parliamentary party was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur in which it was decided to boycott the assembly session.
PTI assembly members were instructed to reach the parliamentary party meeting instead of the assembly hall.
Speaker Babar Saleem and Deputy Speaker Suraya Bibi attended the PTI parliamentary party meeting, and consultations were held on the course of action regarding the swearing-in of the newly elected members on the reserved seats.
