ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Rain, wind, storm alerts have been issued in various areas during the next 12 hours.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority spokesperson, the risk of avalanches has increased in glacial areas due to the continuous increase in temperature in the northern areas.
The spokesperson has directed that residents near the rivers of Hunza, Shigar, Ganchhe and Chitral should be cautious and PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan Disaster Management Authority and District Disaster Management Authority should monitor sensitive areas.
According to the alert, heavy rain with strong winds is likely in various districts of Punjab including Islamabad, while there is a possibility of flooding in urban areas.

The spokesperson said that due to rains, the flow of water in rivers and streams suddenly increases, so the public should not go near streams, rivers and fast-flowing waterways, while tourists should also avoid going near the glacier, taking photographs or trekking.
