ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Major parts of the country including Azad Kashmir are undergoing severe hot weather conditions these days but a new rain spell is expected from June 11.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an assessment of the weather situation indicating a spell of rain in upper parts of the country from June 11.
According to NDMA, an increase in heat intensity is expected in Sindh, South Punjab, and Balochistan.
Upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and North Punjab will also remain under the grip of severe heat from June 7 to 10.
Temperatures in the central and southern districts of Punjab are expected to be significantly higher than normal.
According to the report, rain and strong winds are expected in various areas of Islamabad, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and North Punjab on June 11 and 12.

Rain is also expected in Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Lahore during the same dates.
Hot and dry weather will persist in most areas of Sindh, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, and Tharparkar.
Light rain with thunder and lightning is expected in the northeastern districts of Balochistan including Zhob and Musakhel, on June 11 and 12, according to the PMD.
