MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has approved the suspension of Deputy Director Azad Kashmir Public Relations Department Rawalpindi, Maqsood Ahmed, from service with immediate effect.
As per details, Maqsood Ahmed, who is also serving as the Prime Minister’s Press Secretary, was suspended from service due to his involvement in the Muzaffarabad sexual assault scandal.
Earlier on Monday, SHO Saddar Police Station Muzaffarabad Syed Wajahat Kazmi, wrote a letter to the government, requesting to suspend three employees of the Prime Minister’s House and the Information Department for their alleged involvement in Arif Butt scandal.
After the investigation, Sadar Police have obtained arrest warrants for Maqsood Mir, Deputy Director Protocol Services, Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi, and Cameraman Prime Minister’s Secretariat Mudassar Shah alias Toto, who is currently posted as Protocol Officer in the National Assembly on deputation.
The police department said that the accused Mudassar Shah alias Toto has fled to London, while the Deputy Director Maqsood Ahmed has been in hiding for the past ten days, and Ghaffar Qureshi is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
As per the details, the case involves several senior government officials including Arif Butt and Hasnain, who are accused for sexual exploitation of women by promising them jobs.
Sources said that more arrests and revelations are expected in the next few days, while the investigation is likely to reach federal agencies.
