AJK minister Javed Butt, MLA Rafique Nayyar formally joins PPP

KARACHI (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Minister for Transport Javed Butt and MLA Chaudhry Rafique Nayyar on Monday formally joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) along with their political supporters.

Both leaders were elected as Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ticket.

The announcement was made during the meeting with the President PPP Women Wing and Member of Sindh Assembly Faryal Talpur at Zardari House in Karachi.

During a meeting with Faryal Talpur, Javed Butt and Chaudhry Rafique Nayyar expressed full confidence in the party leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Talpur welcomed AJK government minister Javed Butt and Rafique Nayyar along with their colleagues on joining the PPP.

The Azad Kashmir government minister and General Secretary PPP AJK, Faisal Mumtaz, and senior PPP leader Chaudhry Muhammad Riaz were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, former prime minister AJK Sardar Tanveer Ilyas also joined the Bilawal-led party.

“The only political platform to continue to strongly advance the Kashmir cause and the development and welfare of Azad Kashmir is the party of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto,” Tanveer Ilyas said.
