MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Azad Kashmir, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, has terminated the primary membership of party Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Chaudhry Rafique Nayyar.

General Secretary PTI Azad Kashmir Mir Atiq-ur-Rehman has issued a notification.

Earlier today, Rafique Nayyar announced his decision to join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), citing repeated requests from the people of Khuiratta, his constituency.

“PPP is our own party,” he said in conversation with Kashmir Digital, adding that there were some misunderstandings in the past, but those have now been cleared.

Later, Nayyar and Javed Butt met with In-charge Political Affairs, Pakistan Peoples Party, Faryal Talpur, at Bilawal House in Karachi, where both leaders officially joined the Bilawal-led party.

In a statement, PTI Azad Kashmir spokesperson Chaudhry Maqbool Gujjar said that Rafique Nayyar’s membership was cancelled due to his involvement in anti-party activities.

“PTI Azad Kashmir is vigorously aligning itself, under the leadership of Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, and they will give a complete surprise in the upcoming elections,” he said.

Gujjar said that the party president had issued a show-cause notice to Nayyar a few months ago for anti-party activities.

“All the deviants, including Chaudhry Rafique Nayyar, will become an example in the upcoming elections,” the party spokesperson added.
