Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, other AJK politicians join PPP in meeting with Zardari

KARACHI (Kashmir English): Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, along with his delegation, has held an important meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari at Zardari House in Karachi.

During the meeting, the delegation comprising Advisor to the Azad Kashmir Prime Minister, Sardar Ahmed Saghir, MLA Ali Shan Soni, and Sardar Umar Tanveer, announced their decision to join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

President Zardari welcomed the delegation and congratulated them on joining the party, a press statement issued by the President House Press Wing said.

PPP’s Women Wing President and MPA Faryal Talpur was also present on the occasion.

In the meeting, the participants discussed the political and economic situation of the country in detail and emphasized the need for national reconciliation, unity, and adopting effective strategies for solving public problems.

During the meeting, President Zardari and the delegation discussed the political situation and future strategy of Azad Kashmir.

They further discussed organizational structure, elections, and coalition policy in Azad Kashmir. Party sources said that more important joinings are expected in Azad Kashmir in the coming days.

Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider, senior PPP leader Saleem Mandviwala, former President of Azad Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, politicians including Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Chaudhry Muhammad Riaz, and Sardar Zia Qamar, Political Advisor Sardar Iftikhar Rashid, were also present on the occasion.

In addition, Sindh Home Minister Sindh Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Provincial Minister Haji Ali Hassan Zardari and MPA Sohail Anwar Siyal were also present.
