MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Mirpur administration has discussed in detail the elimination of encroachments across the city, that could pave the way for the widening of roads and passages, improvements in the sanitation system, and the restoration of urban beauty and charm.
Estate Officer Municipal Corporation Mirpur, Chaudhry Basharat Hussain, a meeting with the anti-encroachment department, urged the relevant staff to perform their professional duties with diligence, devotion, and a sense of responsibility.
Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Basharat Hussain stated that maintaining the beauty of Mirpur city, providing urban facilities, and upholding discipline are among the primary responsibilities of the local government administration.
Encroachments not only cause obstacles in the widening of roads and the flow of traffic but also create numerous difficulties for citizens, especially pedestrians.
Therefore, an integrated strategy, continuous monitoring, and impartial legal action are inevitable for their eradication, he said.

He further added that despite limited resources and available manpower, Municipal Corporation Mirpur is striving to its full capacity for the decoration of the city, improvement in sanitation standards, and the elimination of encroachments.
The Estate Officer urged the anti-encroachment department staff to regularly inspect various commercial centres, markets, roads, and public passages in the city.
He clarified that the protection of public places, upholding civic rights, and the implementation of municipal laws are fundamental components of the administration of any civilized society.
