CALIFORNIA (Kashmir English): WhatsApp has introduced a new feature in its latest beta update, under which users can now add a link to their Facebook profile on their WhatsApp profile.
This feature aims to make it easier to connect between Meta’s platforms.
This feature, which is included in the beta version, allows users to add a Facebook link to their WhatsApp profile, which will be visible to all people who view their profile.
This link will be verified through the Meta Accounts Center to make it clear that both profiles belong to the same person.
A small badge will appear with the verified link, while an unverified link will appear as the full URL.
To enable the feature, users can control the visibility of the link as they wish by going to Settings > Privacy > Links.
Users can decide whether the link should be shown to everyone, only to selected contacts, or completely private.
This update follows on from previously introduced features that allowed users to connect Instagram profiles and share WhatsApp statuses directly to Instagram.
Initially, this feature is available to a limited number of users, but is expected to be rolled out to all WhatsApp users soon after the trial is complete.
