LAHORE (Kashmir English): Pakistan has scored 313 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their first innings against South Africa by the end of the first day of the first match of the two-Test series.

In the match being played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Pakistan captain Shan Masood won the toss and decided to bat first.

Abdullah Shafiq and Imam-ul-Haq opened the innings for Pakistan, but Abdullah Shafiq was dismissed after scoring only 2 runs.

After Abdullah Shafiq was dismissed, Shan Masood and Imam-ul-Haq batted responsibly and took the team’s score forward.

Captain Shan Masood was dismissed for 76 runs on a total score of 163.

Imam-ul-Haq also lost his courage after scoring 93 runs on a total score of 199.

Saud Shakeel also lost his wicket on the next ball without scoring any runs. Babar Azam was also dismissed after 2 overs on the same score of 199, scoring 23 runs.

After them, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha put up a partnership of 114 runs. Rizwan 62 and Salman Agha 52 are at the wicket.

Earlier, national team captain Shan Masood won the toss and said that they will try their best to take advantage of the home conditions, while Proteas captain Aiden Markram said that they have played cricket in such conditions, and they will try to get Pakistan out early.
