ABU DHABI (Kashmir English): The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a 30-day grace period for individuals affected by regional flight disruptions due to the evolving situation in the Middle East.
Under this relief, the people facing visa problems in the UAE can adjust their status in the country or depart without facing penalties.
According to the statement issued by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP), the grace period runs from June 10 to July 9, 2026.
It will apply to all those who had previously been exempted from overstay fines after being unable to leave the UAE because of disruptions linked to conditions in the region.
According to Emirati officials, affected people can get their visa status corrected without penalty until July 9. The special visa exemption has been given on the basis of humanitarian sympathy.
This facility is for people stranded in the Emirates due to war situations, and people holding tourist and visit visas will also benefit from it.
In March, the authority exempted visa holders, exit permit holders, and residents whose visas had been cancelled but were unable to leave the UAE because of airspace closures or flight suspensions from February 28, 2026, from overstay penalties.
The measure was introduced to shield affected individuals from financial burdens arising from circumstances beyond their control.
