WASHINGTON DC (Kashmir English): U.S. President Donald Trump has dismissed reports claiming that the United States would provide Iran with $300 billion in reconstruction funding as part of a potential peace agreement, calling the claims “Fake News.”

In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump said that Iran had agreed to never pursue a nuclear weapon but strongly rejected allegations that Washington would directly pay Tehran billions of dollars.

His statement came after a U.S. official told reporters that discussions had included the possibility of sanctions relief, access to frozen assets, and the establishment of a massive reconstruction fund tied to Iran’s compliance with the agreement.

Vice President JD Vance also indicated that economic benefits could become available if Iran fulfills its obligations under the proposed deal. Speaking to CBS News, Vance said the reported $300 billion could potentially be financed by Gulf states rather than direct U.S. payments, provided Tehran honors its commitments.

The proposed funding mechanism is believed to involve members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Reports by international media outlets previously suggested that a draft agreement included provisions for a $300 billion reconstruction investment fund for Iran.

However, senior U.S. officials stressed that the recently signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) is only an initial framework, with detailed technical negotiations expected to begin later this week under Vance’s leadership.

Before the MOU was finalized, Vance had emphasized that Iran would not receive any cash merely for signing the agreement, stating that any economic benefits would depend entirely on Iran meeting its obligations under the deal.
