DERA ISMAIL KHAN (Kashmir English): Six policemen and an imam of a mosque were martyred in an attack by Indian-backed Fitna-ul-Khawarij terrorists on a police training school in Dera Ismail Khan.
Five Fitna-ul-Kharij terrorists were also killed during the operation.
A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army said that the Dera Ismail Khan Police Training School was attacked on the intervening night of October 10-11.
The terrorists tried to breach the school’s external security.
According to the ISPR, law enforcement officials on duty foiled the terrorists’ nefarious plans with timely action.
The terrorists rammed a vehicle loaded with explosives into the main gate of the school.
The police killed three Indian-backed Khawarij, while the security forces surrounded two other terrorists in the building and killed them during a targeted operation.
According to the ISPR, 6 brave policemen were martyred during the fierce exchange of fire.
The martyred policemen included trainees. 12 policemen and an innocent civilian were also injured in the terrorist attack.
The Public Relations Department said that during the attack, the terrorists also attacked the mosque of the school complex. The terrorists desecrated the place of worship and martyred the Imam of the mosque.
According to the ISPR, a clearance operation is underway in the area. The elements involved in the cowardly and brutal act will be brought to justice.
Mohsin Naqvi condemned
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack by Khawarij terrorists on the police training center in DI Khan and paid tribute to the 7 policemen who were martyred.
The Interior Minister expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured personnel.
Mohsin Naqvi said that the police personnel sacrificed their lives to thwart the attack of the Khawarji terrorists. The police bravely confronted the Khawarji terrorists and thwarted their nefarious intentions. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has made eternal sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
