MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Iftikhar Gillani on Thursday directed that steps be taken to provide government services online through the ‘AJK One’ portal, enabling citizens to access information and services through a single digital platform.
He was speaking at a high-level meeting to review progress on the proposed portal, where officials briefed him on the facilities to be included in the portal.
Through this portal, citizens will be able to get information about government departments, public services, government job opportunities and educational institutions. It will also allow citizens to register complaints against government departments and access information about their redressal.
Addressing the meeting, the prime minister said modern technology would be used to improve direct communication between the government and citizens and make government services more accessible.
Gillani directed the relevant officials to ensure that the portal meets citizens’ needs and provides government services, information about government departments, jobs, educational institutions and registration of complaints and their redressal.
He emphasised that the AJK One portal should reduce unnecessary visits of citizens to government offices, simplify access to information and make communication between the public and government departments more effective.
“The availability of all relevant information and services on the portal should be ensured so that citizens can fulfill their needs through a single digital platform,” he stated.
The meeting was attended by government ministers Col. (retd) Waqar Ahmed Noor, Dr Mustafa Bashir Abbasi, Chief Secretary Khushal Khan, IGP Liaquat Ali Malik, and other senior officials.
