MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The government sources have said that the situation in Muzaffarabad is completely normal as preparations continue for the next phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections.

Rejecting the social media propaganda of chaos on the streets, sources added that roads and markets are open and internet services have been restored in the city.

Officials said a minor altercation between supporters of two political parties was exaggerated on social media and presented out of context.

Authorities maintained that there is no major disruption to routine life in Muzaffarabad.

Furthermore, government sources have raised concerns over alleged attempts to create unrest in Muzaffarabad to create obstacles in the next phase of the elections.

After the rejection of propaganda of fake dead bodies in Mirpur and Rawalakot, the next target of proscribed JAAC is Muzaffarabad.

“Once again, the echo of fake bodies is being spread while they themselves are seen in public spreading riots,” sources added.

As per the sources, such incidents are aimed at creating confusion among the public, undermining the electoral process and delaying the continuation of the constitutional process.

“The purpose of the dead bodies and riots is to cover up their failures, delay the elections, and prevent the constitutional process. Those who prevent the people from a peaceful democratic process are afraid of peace,” sources added.
