ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to meet US President Donald Trump in New York on September 23 during the United Nations General Assembly session.
The meeting is likely to cover several important issues, including Kashmir, the Indus Waters Treaty, peace efforts in the Middle East and cooperation against terrorism.
Shehbaz Sharif will travel to New York as world leaders gather for the UN General Assembly. His meeting with Trump is expected to take place during a reception hosted by the US president and First Lady Melania Trump for visiting leaders.
The reception will bring together several heads of state and government, allowing Shehbaz Sharif to interact with Trump as well as other world leaders.
The expected meeting would be the first face-to-face meeting between Shehbaz Sharif and Donald Trump in seven months. The two leaders last met after the Board of Peace gathering in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
