WASHINGTON (Kashmir English): US President Donald Trump will hold an important meeting with his national security team today on the Iran war and future strategy, in which options for resuming possible military action against Iran are expected to be considered.

According to the American news website Axios, the military option is being seriously considered again in Washington after negotiations between Iran and the United States stalled.

US officials say that President Trump now seems inclined to take limited military action to increase pressure on Iran.

According to the report, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pat Hegseth, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and other senior officials will participate in the meeting.

According to US officials, President Trump wants a deal to end the war, but the situation has become more tense due to Iran’s rejection of US demands and failure to make meaningful concessions on its nuclear program.

The options under consideration include resuming Project Freedom, under which the US Navy guided and protected commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The report also said that one option is to resume airstrikes on Iran, which could hit about 25 percent of the previously identified targets that have not been attacked so far.

The Israeli government is also pressuring the United States to conduct a special forces operation to seize Iran’s enriched uranium reserves, but according to US officials, President Trump is taking a cautious approach due to the dangerous consequences of this operation.

According to the report, President Trump’s expected visit to China could also play an important role in future decisions regarding Iran, where he will discuss Iran, trade, and the situation in the region with the Chinese leadership.
