BANNU (Kashmir English): At least seven people were martyred and three others injured after two explosions occurred in the Burghanto area under the jurisdiction of Ahmad Zai Police Station in Bannu on Saturday.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Yasir Afridi, the first explosion took place near a passenger vehicle carrying members of the Hathi Khel tribe who were traveling towards Bannu city.
The powerful blast destroyed the vehicle, killing five people on the spot.
The second blast occurred moments later when rescue efforts were underway at the scene, causing further casualties and panic in the area. The second explosion killed two people, also destroying the vehicle they were in.
A police official confirmed that seven people lost their lives on the spot, while three injured individuals were shifted to Khalifa Gul Nawaz Teaching Hospital for medical treatment. The bodies of the deceased were transported to the Rural Health Centre Domel.
DPO said security forces and law enforcement agencies immediately reached the area, collected evidence, and launched an investigation into the incidents.
