As per details, authorities have temporarily closed all bus terminals at Faizabad until 9:00 PM tomorrow. Citizens have been advised to plan their travel accordingly.

The officials further said that VIP movement is expected between the Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi and the Red Zone in Islamabad at various times on Tuesday.

Due to the expected closure of the Islamabad Expressway at various times, commuters have been advised to keep an additional 45-minute to one-hour travel margin due to possible traffic disruptions.

Moreover, Islamabad district authorities have also denied the reports circulating on social media regarding a local public holiday in Islamabad on June 22, declaring the reports inaccurate.

Iranian President visit

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, along with a high-level delegation, will visit Pakistan tomorrow, Tuesday, a couple of days after the successful talks between Iran and the US, held in Switzerland and mediated by Islamabad.

In a curtain raiser issued today, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that Masoud Pezeshkian will undertake a “state visit to Pakistan” on June 23 at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

“Dr. Pezeshkian will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers and other high-ranking officials,” it stated.

The FO statement further said that, during the visit, President Pezeshkian will meet the President of Pakistan and hold talks with the Prime Minister.

“The Chairman of the Senate, the Speaker of the National Assembly, and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister will also call on the Iranian President,” it added.

During the visit, the two sides will “review the full spectrum of bilateral relations” and explore new avenues to further deepen cooperation across diverse sectors, including trade, energy, border security, people-to-people exchanges, and regional connectivity, the spokesperson added.

Moreover, the curtain raiser stated that “the visit will also provide an important opportunity to discuss ongoing diplomatic engagements following the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, as well as regional and international developments of mutual interest.”

“The forthcoming visit reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and Iran to further deepen their historic and cultural ties and underscores their common aspiration for peace, stability, and sustainable progress in the region.”

This will be Dr. Pezeshkian’s second visit to Pakistan in his capacity as President of Iran.
