RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): A Pakistan Army captain was martyred, and seven Khwarij were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu District on August 7, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The military’s media wing said that during the operation, conducted on the reported presence of Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khwarij terrorists, troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location.
“In desperation, Khwarij took refuge inside a mosque, blatantly disregarding the sanctity of the place of worship,” it added. In the ensuing fire exchange, seven khwarij, belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna Al Khwarij, were sent to hell.
“However, during the intense fire exchange, Captain Hamza Akram (age: 27 years, resident of District Narowal), who was leading his troops from the front and relentlessly pursuing the Khawarij, fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice, and embraced shahadat,” ISPR said.
The military’s statement further stated that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed Khawarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies as well as the killing of innocent civilians.
“Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored Kharji found in the area, as the relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” (as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further reinforce our unwavering commitment of safeguarding our nation at all costs.”
