ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The federal government on Saturday approved civil awards for 78 individuals, including martyrs and veterans, in recognition of their sacrifices, courage and acts of extraordinary bravery in the service of the country.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Special Committee on Gallantry Awards in Islamabad chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Federal Secretary Interior, Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency, Additional Secretary Cabinet and other relevant officials.
The awards were approved in various categories for individuals who made significant contributions and demonstrated exceptional courage in the face of adversity.
Speaking at the meeting, Naqvi said it was a national responsibility to recognize and encourage those who had sacrificed their lives for the country and those who had displayed extraordinary bravery in its service.
“The country remains indebted to the martyrs and ghazis for their everlasting sacrifices,” Naqvi said, emphasizing that the courage and dedication of those who served the nation would continue to be remembered.
He said the great sacrifices of martyrs and the bravery of the ghazis were a national asset and represented a lasting legacy of devotion to the country.
Representatives from all four provinces also participated in the meeting through video link, contributing to the deliberations on the proposed awards.
