MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The ringleader of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) Sardar Aman Khan in Azad Kashmir has finally asked India for help after failed July 5 protest.

During the protest, Sardar Aman made a baseless and false claim, stating that food supply in Azad Kashmir has been suspended for the past three weeks, leading to food shortages.

He appealed for help from the people of Indian-administered Jammu regions of Poonch, Mendhar, Rajouri, and Doda.

On the 26th day of the demonstration, Sardar Aman leveled baseless allegations against Pakistan and Pakistani institutions.

Aman Khan told the people of Indian-administered areas of Poonch, Mendhar, Rajouri, and Doda that they need the help of India and the people of Jammu.

Inciting his people to violence, Aman said that if the government does not respond to the people’s demands, then the people have other options available as well.

All claims of Sardar Aman were rejected in a joint press conference by the Chief Secretary of Azad Kashmir and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) on June 23.

Authorities stated that at some locations, protesting elements of the banned Action Committee tried to stop and loot trucks loaded with goods entering Azad Kashmir, after which law enforcement agencies took action to secure the vehicles and goods.

Authorities said that all major highways remained open for various types of traffic and the delivery of essential commodities continued.

Claims that the police or administration forced citizens to waste food, medicines, or fuel do not correspond with the facts.

Indian media and media-persons also came in support of the banned JAAC.

Shivank Mishra, Principal Correspondent at AbpNews, India, in a post said: “Protesters in Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK) appeal to India and people of Jammu for help over a three-week halt in food supplies; thousands express support for reunification with India”.

“On the 26th day of protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), one of the principal protest organizers, Sardar Aman Khan, appealed to the people of Poonch, Mendhar, Rajouri, and Doda in India’s Jammu region, alleging that the Pakistani government has blocked food supplies to PoK for the past three weeks, creating a severe food shortage,” Mishra wrote.

He quoted Sardar Aman as having appealed to the people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir that the people of PoK need support and assistance from them and from India.
