MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The cases pending before the Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court concerning the appointment of the President of Kashmir Bank could not be heard on August 18, 2026.

These two cases have been fixed for hearing on 8 September 2026.

The two cases named Muhammad Ayub Khan v Khushal Khan and Muhammad Ayub Khan v Azad Government & Ors were set for hearing on 18 August 2026 in front of Senior Judge High Court Justice Syed Shahid Bihar at the High Court premises.

However, these hearings could not be held as the Senior Judge of the High Court was on leave.

The case was based on the writ petition wherein the appointment of Kashmir Bank President was made despite an earlier order issued by this court.

In his plea, it has been claimed that such an act was an insult to judicial authority and raises some serious legal issues pertaining to the appointment of the Kashmir Bank president.

Advocates Saqib Ahmed Abbasi & Saghir Javed are appearing on behalf of Petitioner Muhammad Ayub Khan in both cases.

High Court has fixed 8 September 2026 for the next hearing in connection with the case related to the appointment of the Kashmir Bank President.
