RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): The elections for the District Bar Association Rawalakot have come to a close, with the results announcing the new President for the association.

Securing 101 votes, the winning presidential candidate, Sabir Kashmiri Advocate, is elected as the new president of District Bar Association Rawalakot.

In the vice-presidential election, Atiqur Rehman Advocate took the lead, securing 94 votes while Bilal Shakeel Advocate was able to obtain only 80. In the elections for the presidential candidate, Izzat Beg Advocate stood in second place by getting 61 votes; Imtaz Akbar made it last with just 15 votes.

Of the total 178 votes delivered in the election, one vote for president was rejected on technical grounds, while four votes were cast for vice president and subsequently nullified. The elections were held free and fair and witnessed all necessary arrangements for the integrity of the process.

The conduct of the aforementioned election was free and fair by adopting all necessary measures to ensure the elections fairly proceeded.

The newly elected leadership of the District Bar Association Rawalakot is expected to amplify their cause and to the best of the association.

The president and the vice-president will emphasize major issues of the legal community, present and plead for the quality of the law leaders, and ensure the respect and authority of law and justice.

The new elections for a new leadership are an important milestone for the association in bringing new aspirations for the new body.

The District Bar Association Rawalakot is a professional organization that speaks out for its members lawyers and other professionals in the legal field and is a pipeline for the governing treatment of legal practitioners.

Work includes the promotion of constitutionalism, the promotion of citizens’ rights through appropriate grounds from the rule of law, and equity and justice principles.
