ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shandana Gulzar on Wednesday booked by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) over allegations of spreading fake news and making allegations against state statements.

Sources said that Gulzar faces accusations of posting anti-state content on social media, including the arrest of Sanam Javed. She also posted fake and fabricated news on social media, the NCCIA said.

The First Information Report (FIR) accuses her of circulating baseless and harmful content on social media that could affect the country’s stability. Authorities have initiated a formal investigation.

Government sources emphasized that action against those spreading fake news will be taken without discrimination, adding that “no one, regardless of influence or position, is above the law.”
