ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Islamabad has registered a case against Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) leader Sardar Aman Khan for allegedly raising anti-Pakistan slogans on social media platforms.
The FIR, lodged at NCCIA Cyber Crime Reporting Centre, Islamabad, on Saturday, includes Sections 9, 10, 11, and 26-A of PECA 2016, pertaining to online hate speech and anti-state activity. Police said an investigation has been launched to determine the extent and intent behind the posts.
The report, a copy of which is available with Kashmir Digital, stated that the accused Amaan Idrees, resident of Palandri, with “malicious intention and ulterior motives, has been consistently engaged in preparing, uttering, propagating, glorifying, disseminating, and promoting contents that are highly offensive and intimidating in nature against the state.”
“The accused deliberately made offensive and inflammatory remarks during public speeches, wherein he disseminated false, misleading, and baseless allegations aimed at discrediting and maligning key state institutions of Pakistan,” the FIR stated.
The NCCIA reported that the contents propagated, publicized, and disseminated through various social media platforms align with the core narratives of anti-state elements and hostile separatist groups.
Moreover, the first information report added that the accused, through her publicly made videos, incited ethnic hatred and deepened societal divisions; instigated the public to take a violent stand against state institutions and government policies; and portrayed the Armed Forces of Pakistan and government officials as being responsible for the deterioration of law and order.
Sardar Aman’s video also intimidated the government officials and spread terror among people, and undermined public safety, the NCCIA said.
Cyber Crime Wing officials emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against any content deemed inflammatory or harmful to the national interest. They further appealed to citizens to exercise caution and responsibility while using social media.
Authorities said that in the digital era, freedom of expression must be balanced with national responsibility, and anti-state or hateful speech online can result in severe legal consequences.
