ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The third meeting of the AJK Development Working Party (AJKDWP) for the fiscal year 2025–26 was held at the Kashmir Plan House under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary (Development) Atif-ur-Rehman.
The meeting reviewed and approved several revised and new development projects across various sectors, including industry, health, information technology, energy, social welfare, and infrastructure.
The working party meeting discussed key projects, including a Rs 42.8 million revised plan for industrial development and rehabilitation, Rs 135.4 million for medical equipment and facilities at THQ Hospital Mang (Sudhanoti), and Rs 108.3 million for land acquisition and construction of BHU Kai Manja.
Furthermore, the meeting also reviewed the Rs 156.7 million project for establishing a Center of Excellence in IT in District Poonch, the Rs 179.9 million project for the State Commission for Women under the Social Welfare Department, and the Rs 417.5 million project for Revenue Complex Muzaffarabad.
Other projects discussed include Rs 167.4 million for improving water quality in Kotli city, Rs 195.2 million for the Banjosa Lake Park project, Rs 484.9 million and Rs 488.2 million for Pithalai and Hariyala 500 KW Hydro Power Projects, respectively, Rs 824.3 million for the construction of Gulpur Bridge, Rs 160 million for the Information Department Consolidation Project (Phase IV), and Rs 1.26 billion for maintenance and landslide clearance on division-wise roads.
The meeting also approved several link road development projects in Haveli, Bagh, and Muzaffarabad, aimed at improving regional connectivity and infrastructure.
The meeting reiterated the government’s commitment to accelerating development and ensuring the timely completion of public welfare projects across Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The session was attended by representatives from the Planning Commission of Pakistan, the Finance Department, secretaries of relevant departments, and officials from the Planning and Development Department.
