MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) internal differences have intensified ahead of the general elections in Azad Kashmir, where allegations and legal action among the leadership have made the situation even more tense.
According to details, PTI Azad Kashmir leader Sardar Sadaqat Hayat, in an interview given to a private TV channel, had accused the party’s parliamentary board chairman and former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, of demanding Rs 25 million in exchange for a party ticket.
This statement created a stir in political circles; however, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi strongly rejected these allegations, calling them false, baseless, and malicious.
Legal Notice Sent
He has sent a legal notice to Sardar Sadaqat Hayat through his lawyer, Sardar Busy Advocate. The legal notice has taken the stand that Sardar Sadaqat Hayat’s allegations are not only irresponsible but have also seriously damaged the reputation of the party leadership.
The notice has demanded that he issue an unconditional public apology within 14 days, withdraw his statements and issue an explanation on relevant media platforms.
It has been further said that if the demands are not met, civil and criminal proceedings will be taken against him, as well as a claim for damages of Rs 100 million.
Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi has taken a stand that he will give a legal response to any attempt to damage his reputation and political prestige.
It should be noted that even before this, a faction of PTI Azad Kashmir had expressed no confidence in the parliamentary board.
In this regard, a protest demonstration was also held outside the house of Barrister Gohar Ali Khan in the past few days, which has further highlighted the internal differences in the party.
