LAHORE (Kashmir English): In Pakistan Super League 11 (PSL 11), Lahore Qalandars defeated Multan Sultans by 20 runs in a rain-affected match on Friday.

The toss for the match played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore was delayed due to rain. However, after a long delay, Multan Sultans won the toss against Lahore Qalandars and decided to field first.

The victory moves Lahore Qalandars up the PSL 2026 points table, adding crucial momentum to their campaign at Gaddafi Stadium a venue where they have historically enjoyed strong home support.

The revised target was set using the DLS (Duckworth-Lewis-Stern) method, a standard protocol in rain-affected T20 matches, making Lahore’s final total of 185/5 in 13 overs a run-rate of over 14 per over an especially challenging mark.

PSL match was limited to 13 overs each

Despite a fighting 52 from captain Ashton Turner and 44 from Shan Masood, Multan Sultans fell 20 runs short, unable to sustain the required run rate in the death overs.

Due to rain, the match was limited to 13 overs per innings. Lahore Qalandars scored 185 runs for 5 wickets in their allotted 13 overs.

Mohammad Naeem scored 60 and Parvez Hussain scored 45 runs, being the prominent scorers. In addition, Abdullah Shafique scored 33 and Sikandar Raza scored 13 runs. Mohammad Ismail took 2 wickets for Multan Sultans.

In response to the target of 186 runs, Multan Sultans could only score 165 runs for 5 wickets in the allotted 13 overs.

For Multan Sultans, captain Ashton Turner scored 52 and Shan Masood scored 44 runs, being the prominent scorers, while Arafat Minhas scored 25 runs.

Among Lahore Qalandars bowlers, Mustafizur Rahman dismissed 2 players, while Shaheen Shah Afridi, Obaid Shah, and Sikandar Raza took one wicket each.

With this win, Lahore Qalandars strengthen their grip on a playoff spot in PSL 11. Mustafizur Rahman’s disciplined bowling and Mohammad Naeem’s explosive half-century were the defining contributions in what was an entertaining, albeit rain-curtailed, PSL 2026 fixture.
