KOTLI (Kashmir English): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Chaudhry Yasin has called on the district administration to take immediate notice of alleged polling interference in Union Council Charhoi during the ongoing elections.
In a statement, Chaudhry Yasin alleged that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) assembly candidate Raja Riyasat Khan, accompanied by around 50 armed individuals, reached polling stations in Union Council Charhoi and attempted to influence the polling process.
He claimed that the alleged presence of armed men had created fear among voters, affecting the atmosphere at polling stations.
Chaudhry Yasin further said that slow mobile phone services were making it difficult for people to contact the duty magistrate and the Quick Response Force (QRF).
He urged the Kotli administration to intervene immediately and ensure that polling continues in a free, fair and peaceful environment.
He also appealed to media organisations and DSNG teams covering the elections to visit the polling stations in Union Council Thruchi and report on the situation.
