ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Senator Rana Sanaullah said that the PML-N has almost finalized the party tickets for 30 constituencies in Azad Kashmir.
An important meeting of the political committee of the Muslim League (N) was held in Islamabad in connection with the upcoming AJK election, in which the election strategy, ticket distribution, and political situation were discussed in detail.
The meeting was jointly chaired by Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam, and Advisor to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Political Affairs and Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Senator Rana Sanaullah Khan.
In the meeting, the leaders of the Muslim League (N), Azad Kashmir, gave a detailed briefing to the committee regarding the party situation, constituency-wise political position, and candidates. On this occasion, consultations were also held on the distribution of party tickets and election strategy in Azad Kashmir.
Engineer Amir Muqam said that it has been decided in the meeting that party tickets will be issued soon to the candidates of the Muslim League (N) in Azad Kashmir so that the election campaign can be carried forward effectively.
The meeting was attended by the President of the PML-N, Azad Kashmir Shah Ghulam Qadir, the former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan, and other senior leaders. The participants included Mushtaq Minhas, Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, Iftikhar Gilani, Najeeb Naqi, Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed, Sardar Tariq, and other leaders.
Talking to the media, Senator Rana Sanaullah Khan said that currently, no proposal is under consideration regarding the inclusion of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in the NFC award.
Reacting to the news regarding the delay in the AJK election, Rana Sanaullah clarified that the elections will not be delayed even by a day.
He said that the constitutional term of the current assembly is till August 4, while a 45-day election schedule will be issued before that and the elections will be held on time.
On the question of eliminating the 12 seats of refugees, Rana Sanaullah said that there is a demand for an action committee in this regard, and the government is ready to discuss the matter.
He said that millions of people have sacrificed for the Kashmir cause, so there should be no such step that could harm the Kashmir cause. He added that the refugees left their homeland and homes and struggled; it would not be appropriate to exclude them from the political process.
He said that consultative and organizational meetings regarding the distribution of tickets are underway and all decisions will be completed before the election schedule is released.
