ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Chief of Defence Forces/ Field Marshal Asim Munir has departed for Tehran on an official visit, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the details, Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, is accompanying him on this visit.
Earlier on Sunday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei had announced that the trip aims to strengthen bilateral Iran-Pakistan cooperation and continue Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and security in the region.
Munir will hold meetings with senior Iranian officials during his stay.
Asim Munir, who leads the mediation mission between Iran and the United States, made his first trip to advance the mediation efforts on April 15, 2026.
He then traveled to Tehran again on May 22, holding meetings with senior Iranian authorities, including President Masoud Pezeshkian.
