BURGENSTOCK (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif meets the United States Vice President JD Vance, according to media reports.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir are in Switzerland for US-Iran talks, where they met US Vice President JD Vance.
US Vice President JD Vance was accompanied by Jared Kushner and Steve Wittkoff in the delegation.
Sources say that after meeting the US delegation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also meet the Iranian delegation, which will be headed by Baqir Qalibaf, accompanied by Foreign Minister Araqchi and other officials.
Earlier, the Swiss Foreign Ministry confirmed the arrival of the Pakistani delegation, which includes Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, in Switzerland and extended a grand welcome.
After the recent ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’ signed between the US and Iran, the next phase of talks is now going to begin at the Bergenstock Resort, for which mediation delegations from Pakistan and Qatar have also arrived, and negotiating delegations from both countries, Iran and the US, have also arrived.
The Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a post on the social networking website ‘X’, specifically stating that ‘We welcome the arrival of the Pakistani delegation in Switzerland.
The Swiss Foreign Ministry wrote about the Pakistani delegation that, as a mediator of the ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’ signed between the US and Iran, the Pakistani delegation has now arrived in Bergenstock for the next phase of talks.
Increasing diplomatic momentum, Pakistan has played a key mediating role in the initial understanding between Washington and Tehran.
