MANAMA (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and discussed the strong and historic partnership between the two brotherly countries.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the warm welcome.

PM Shehbaz Sharif appreciated Bahrain’s long-standing goodwill towards Pakistan. The Prime Minister appreciated Bahrain’s leadership in promoting peace, tolerance, and coexistence.

The King of Bahrain presented Prime Minister Sharif with the Order of Bahrain (First Class), the highest honor bestowed by Bahrain on a world leader.

King Hamad said that Bahrain is honored that Quaid-e-Azam represented Bahrain legally.  According to records, Muhammad Ali Jinnah was Bahrain’s lawyer.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the encouraging momentum in bilateral relations while agreeing to further enhance cooperation in political, economic, defense and cultural sectors.

The Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to further promote bilateral relations based on shared faith and mutual respect.

The Prime Minister thanked the Bahraini leadership for its support in establishing King Hamad University in Islamabad, and also highlighted Pakistan’s desire to expand trade and investment.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is ready to further promote bilateral trade with the GCC Free Trade Agreement.

The Prime Minister also invited Bahraini investors to explore more investment opportunities. Shahbaz Sharif also appreciated the hospitality of more than 150,000 Pakistanis in Bahrain.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif thanked Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the repatriation of Pakistani prisoners.

During the meeting, the two leaders reiterated the importance of the long-standing defense partnership, agreed to strengthen cooperation in technical training, logistics, manpower and defense production, while exchanging views on the recent progress in Gaza and expressing great satisfaction with the peace and stability in Gaza.

The meeting resolved that the visit would further strengthen the enduring friendship and cooperation.
