LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended domestic cricketer Hamza Nazar from all domestic and international cricket activities for two years and imposed a fine of Rs 1 million.
According to a press release issued by PCB on Thursday, the disciplinary action follows an inquiry into information provided by Hamza Nazar while applying for a visa through the PCB.
The Disciplinary Committee found that Hamza Nazar concealed certain important facts and provided misleading information during his foreign visa application.
“The PCB constituted a three-member inquiry committee. The committee provided Hamza Nazar with an opportunity to present his position and respond to the matters under consideration,” the press release stated.
After hearing his explanation, reviewing the available information and taking all relevant circumstances into account, the committee submitted its findings and recommendations to the PCB.
Following a detailed review of the committee’s findings, the PCB decided to impose a two-year ban on Hamza Nazar from all forms of domestic and international cricket and a fine of Rs1 million.
The PCB says that actions such as misrepresentation and concealment of facts are against the dignity and professional principles of Pakistan cricket.
“Such conduct is inconsistent with the standards of honesty, professionalism and responsibility expected from individuals associated with Pakistan cricket,” it added.
