ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi directed to refrain from unjustified stopping of passengers holding necessary travel documents.

While paying a surprise visit to Islamabad International Airport, he said that passengers traveling with fake documents or through illegal means bring disrepute to the country, and such a situation will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

He did a detailed inspection of the immigration process, staff presence, and problems faced by passengers.

During this, the Interior Minister met passengers traveling abroad and listened to their experiences and complaints.

Taking strict notice of a passenger’s complaint on November 7 about the shortage of staff at immigration, Mohsin Naqvi ordered an immediate inquiry.

He directed that the entire situation be closely reviewed through CCTV footage. The Interior Minister said that future passengers will not get the opportunity to make such complaints.

The Interior Minister ordered a full-scale crackdown on the visa agent mafia, saying that the agent mafia is playing with the future of innocent people in the greed for money.

He made it clear that no concession will be made to the fraudulent agents who send people abroad on the pretext of jobs, and travel without verified documents cannot be allowed.

Mohsin Naqvi issued strict instructions to the relevant agencies to make the airport immigration system more effective, transparent, and passenger-friendly so that the image of Pakistan and the trust of passengers are not damaged
