QUETTA (Kashmir English): Pakistan has launched a strong retaliatory action along the Pak-Afghan border in Balochistan to eliminate hideouts and posts being used by proscribed elements and their facilitators.

According to Pakistani security sources, the Pakistan Army launched a large-scale retaliatory military operation during the night of March 3 and 4 in various areas of Balochistan adjacent to the Pak-Afghan border.

Officials stated that the operation is being conducted against alleged hideouts and posts used by proscribed elements and their facilitators.

According to sources, the objective of this operation is to effectively curb terrorist activities originating from across the border and eliminate potential threats to national security.

Security sources stated that more than 50 locations are being targeted in the operation. Various modern and heavy weapons are being used in the operation, including fire weapons, anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), rocket launchers and long-range mortars.

Drones are also being used for integrated operations, targeting specific objectives in collaboration with ground forces.

According to sources, the operation is aimed at inflicting decisive damage on terrorist elements and their facilitators.

According to reports, the operation is ongoing in various sensitive sectors of Balochistan, including Qila Saifullah (Pishin, Loye Band, and Badini sectors); Zhob (Sambaza and Ghudwana sectors); Nushki (Jani and Ghaznali sectors); and Chiltan Ranges (Gulistan, Dobandi, and Shishka sectors).

Threat from Afghanistan soil

Security sources said that these locations were allegedly being used for cross-border terrorist activities.

According to officials, this operation will continue until the threats are completely neutralised and an effective defence balance is restored in the border areas.

Pakistan has once again reiterated its commitment to take all possible measures to protect its sovereignty, borders, and citizens.
