ISLAMABAD (KashmirEnglish): Qatar has removed the visa-on-arrival option and the online visa application for Pakistanis, according to the media, citing various would-be travelers hoping to enter the Gulf country.
Stamping authorities have confirmed the same to the media. Qatar has not formally informed its decision to Pakistan government yet, but the officials have guaranteed that the issue will be taken up with the Qatari authorities.
The reasons for introducing this ban appear to be related to the changed regional security situation in the context of the intensified confrontation between the USA and Iran, as well as similar changes in the visa policy in the Gulf region.
Qatar became the second Gulf state after the UAE to introduce the ban, which had been affecting Pakistani citizens since last year.
