GLASGOW (Kashmir English): Pakistani boxer Fatima Zahra made history by winning a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026, marking the first time a female athlete wins a medal for the country in the history of the Games.
Competing in the 60 kg weight category, Fatima Zahra’s brilliant journey concluded in the semi-finals where she faced defeat at the hands of Canada’s Mary-Bathoul Al-Ahmadieh.
However, due to reaching the semi-finals, she received the bronze medal which is also the country’s first medal at Glasgow Games 2026.
Fatima Zahra delivered a magnificent performance in the quarter-finals against Jordan Wilson of New Zealand, winning with a unanimous 5-0 decision.
Her aggressive style and technical skills had ignited hopes for a historic medal among Pakistani fans.
