ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBS) has stopped airing Indian songs on FM Radio stations across the country after the Indian government banned several YouTube channels of Pakistani media outlets and entertainment channels.
The moves were taken from both countries amid the rising tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack in Indian 0ccupied Kashmir, for which India blames Pakistan. However, Islamabad denies the Indian allegation and demands a transparent investigation into the attack.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tara,r commended the “principal decision” of the Pakistan Broadcasters Association in light of the rapidly evolving current situation.
The minister termed it a patriotic gesture and a reflection of the collective sentiment of the entire nation. It demonstrates a strong sense of national solidarity on behalf of PBA, it added.
The statement, signed by Information Minister Tarar, deeply appreciated the aforementioned initiative of PBA on its own which upholds the dignity and sovereignty of the nation.
“This shows we all stand united in promoting national unity and supporting core values during such testing times,” it added.
The minister acknowledged with pride the efforts of all media stakeholders who continue to act in the national interest and support government efforts which are directed towards promoting unity, peace, and patriotism.
