ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan has rejected the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) ‘unverified’ claim of the killing of three local Afghan cricketers in a Pakistani aerial strike.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar rejected the International Cricket Council’s biased, selective, and immature comment, which leveled a baseless accusation against Pakistan that three local Afghan cricketers lost their lives in a Pakistani attack.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, issuing a statement on the social media site X, said that the ICC also did not provide any independent evidence in this regard.
Tarar said that Pakistan itself is a victim of cross-border terrorism, and that blaming Pakistan has become the pattern of the new ICC leadership under Jay Shah.
The Information Minister said that the ICC’s statement was repeated by Jay Shah on his social media account, and then the Afghan Cricket Board also repeated the same claim.
He said that these incidents have raised questions about the neutral status of the ICC.
Afghanistan Cricket Board
After the recent tensions, the Afghanistan Cricket Board had announced its withdrawal from the tri-nation series to be held in Pakistan.
A statement issued by the Afghanistan Cricket Board said that Afghanistan will not participate in the tri-nation series to be held in Pakistan in November.
